Bumbleroot Design Strap Guide
FREE !
Straps are an integral part of bagmaking, so make sure to devote time to making them! Depending on your sewing machine, you may need to limit or reduce your strap layers. This guide includes some tips and tricks for reducing the bulk, especially when you need to fold the ends around hardware.
Included are ideas for strap construction, as well as ideas for concealing raw strap ends. I use these methods to combat thick straps that are difficult to work with, and to avoid raw edges for vinyls/ leathers that don’t have presentable undersides.
This guide lists recommendations for dimensions, depending on the strap style you choose to make. You can take these measurements and adjust them for any bag you are making.
