Policy on the Use of AI Technology

Last updated September 8, 2026

Bumbleroot Design is a creative business that encompasses design, writing, editing, and illustration both on- and off-line. As a writer, artist, and overall creative, I aim to develop and hone my own skills in these areas without the intentional use of AI.

All artwork, artwork components, pattern pieces, instructions, text, and PDF templates for Bumbleroot Design LLC are created by me. I do not use generative AI to create graphics or visuals. I use existing open source and properly licensed fonts in my graphics, documents, and on my website.

AI Technology Disclaimer

There are several software tools that I use for my business, some of which might be powered by AI in the backend. I opt out of using AI features provided by software and disable such features permanently if given the option. I disallow use of my content to train AI large language models (LLMs).

Human-First Approach

My processes begin and end with me: my eyes, my hands, and my mind.

Until there are regulations that mandate the disclosure of AI, I will do my best to avoid intentionally using AI tools in my workflow.

However, when setting up and maintaining this website, there are times that I utilize AI as a tool to help me code backend scripts. The ideas for what I want to accomplish and the final testing and execution originate and are performed by me.

Software

I currently use the following tools and software:

  • LumaFusion and DaVinci Resolve: Video editing
  • Affinity Publisher* v2: Designing, writing, and generating PDFs
  • Affinity Designer* v2: Creating graphics, pattern pieces, illustrations, and SVG files (from scratch)
  • Cricut Design Space: Cutting heat-transfer vinyl, textiles (leather, microfiber, faux leather, etc.), paper for hand-painting templates, and cardstock for gift boxes

* As Affinity Publisher v2 and Affinity Designer v2 phase out, I will be utilizing the newer Affinity Studio suite, which is powered by Canva. I have not yet researched the impact of AI in this newer suite.

Additionally, for my WordPress-based website, I opted to prevent GPTBot from accessing my website, which is a web crawler developed by OpenAI designed to scan, collect, and categorize public website content for the purpose of training LLMs. However, doing so prevents my site from being listed in AI chat search responses, so I rely on word-of-mouth recommendations and social media sharing. Thank you!
